Yayoi Kusama: Give Me Love


At the David Zwirner Gallery in Chelsea, after waiting a little over half an hour in line, I finally got the chance to leave my mark on Yayoi Kusama’s The Obliteration Room. As part of her Give Me Love exhibition, visitors are given a sheet of colorful polka dot stickers before entering the pre-fabricated suburban house to stick on themselves and/or any available surface in the room. By the time I arrived, most of the room was already covered in polka dots! It’s hard to believe that once upon a time, the entire surface was white…
